Post-production
We are working together and helping each other with our individual roles. Sonal is working on editing the scene together and Bex is working on the poster. Neil, Tammana and Rox are helping both of them when they need a little bit of assistance. Neil also looked for some sound effects needed for the final scene.
Production- filming the scene
Production
Notting Hill pre-production
We started off the process by selecting a scene from the film to recreate. The scene we decided on is when the two main characters meet for the first time in a bookstore. We then worked on making our own storyboard for the scene so we have something to refer to while filming the scene. Neil had a look for the script of the scene online, in order to get in touch with his leading role as Hugh Grant. We also decided on the roles that we will all take on during the task.
Neil - Hugh Grant
Tammana - Julia Roberts
Bex - Poster
Sonal - Editing
Rox - Blogging, Pictures and Outtakes
The Shining
Monday 4th January: 10:00am
Our group consists of - Simone, Emma, Rime, Dan & David.
We have been asked to recreate a 1-2 minute scene and poster from Kubricks' 1980 film "The Shining".
Collectively we have started looking at different scenes on Youtube and have agreed to select a simplistic clip, so that we are able to replicate it with ease.
The scene we have chosen is the bar scene - The protagonist is having a conversation with Lloyd the barman.
Job Roles:
Rime: Storyboard + Props, Filming, Blogging
David: Acting, Editing, Blogging
Simone: Poster Planning, Acting, Blogging, Editing
Emma: Poster Planning, Photoshop Poster, Blogging, Editing
Dan: Source music + script, Editing, Blogging
Rime has begun to storyboard, Simone & Emma have begun to plan the poster, Dan is sourcing the music and David is taking pictures.

David and Dan set up the set for the bar scene. They created the background by drawing the scene on A3 paper and using props from the local pub. They have used tea to replicate the whisky in the bottle and sugar cubes for ice. Emma and Simone continued to work on the film poster focusing on the font used for the billing information. Rime continued to create the storyboard that will be used for filming.

Rehearsing the scene
The Shining 12.30 -13.30 The Shining...
As the day wanes, so does our enthusiasm, the set was dressed and David was let loose to show us his best Jack Nicholson impression. Rime created storyboards and directed, Simone volunteered as the the barman in the scene. Dan and Emma retired to Subway for lunch. Good times.
Following our brief period of gustation the team was back in the editing room for a bit of post. Emma and Simone cracked on with refining the poster, Rime set up editing whilst Dan stared out of the window and checked his Facebook intermittently for new posts. He also wrote this blog entry.
The plan for the rest of the day is for Dan and David to edit this masterpiece upon Davids return from his meeting with Pete.

Captains Log 14.30 - 15.30 The Harrowing...
Emma and Simone persevere with their stunning vision for the poster, as Dan and David edit to the very best of their limited abilities. Rime keeps the group on task with a series of stern looks and animated hand gestures. The project is taking shape and we can tell ours is better than the other team. The end is in sight...
15.15 Domino!!!!
And its all over, the task has been dissed and dismissed with some skill. Witness the amazing scene, and top quality poster editing that is miles better than the other groups...
